Christian (Chris) Leslie Weise, 62, of Idaho Falls, passed away on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

Chris was born on July 5, 1959, in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Frederick Weise and Bonnie Clapp Weise. He grew up in Idaho Falls where he graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1978. While in high school he participated in ROTC.

On June 3, 2000, he married his sweetheart, Mary June DeFilippis, in Idaho Falls. With this union, Chris got an instant family with June's 3 children.

During his life, Chris worked on the pipeline in Alaska, mined in Green River, Utah, and was a heavy equipment operator with several construction companies. In 1998, he went to work for Bonneville County as a heavy equipment operator. Due to medical reasons, Chris retired in 2013.

Chris was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He is a former member of the Eagles.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outdoors, collecting firearms of all kinds, teaching his grandkids how to shoot and fish, collecting antiques, and creating stained glass art. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Mary June Weise of Idaho Falls, Idaho; his son, Bill Nichols of Murietta, California; his daughter, Tiffany Nichols of Idaho Falls, Idaho; his son, Chris (Roxy) Strahm of Idaho Falls, Idaho; his daughter, Katy (Sheridan) Lane of Idaho Falls, Idaho; his sister, Linda Archibald of Rigby, Idaho; his niece, Carrie of Rigby, Idaho; his niece, Ashley (Jake) of Rigby, Idaho; and nine grandchildren: Riley, Kayden, Nicholas, Parker, Nate, Pyper, Teagan, Knoxx, and Deja.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Bonnie Weise; his father, Frederick Weise; his grandparents; great-grandparents; mother-in-law; father-in-law; and his brother-in-law Richard Archibald.

A gathering will be held from 6-8:00 p.m., Thursday, November 4, 2021, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls. A celebration of life will be held from 1-3:00 p.m., Saturday, November 6, 2021, at the Holiday Inn, 3005 South Fork Blvd., Idaho Falls.
