Cid G. Chaides, 73, of Idaho Falls, passed away May 1, 2012, at Life Care Center. He was born January 10, 1939 in Guadalupe de los Reyes, Sinaloa, Mexico to Angel Chaides Barragon and Maria Jimenez Maldonado. He grew up and attended schools in Mexico. Cid was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served as a teacher and fellowshipper. As a young man, he served a mission for the church in Mexico. He attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, where he studied Psychology and Law Enforcement. Cid worked for BYU Campus services and security. Later, he moved to Idaho Falls where he worked for District 91 as a part-time teacher, and was self-employed in various fields of interest. He also was a volunteer for the police department. He was married and the father of six children: Christina, Daniel Rodrigo, Hilda, Leticia, Ricardo, and Anthony Hector. He and his wife separated and later divorced. He enjoyed reading and conversing about history, psychology, computers, and religion. Cid dedicated his life to others, helping them to become self-sufficient, and increasing their faith in God. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 7, 2012, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., Idaho Falls. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the services at the mortuary.
