Clifford V. Lewis, 87, of Idaho Falls, died Monday, March 21, 2011, at his home of leukemia. He had been under the care of Aspen Home Health and Hospice. Cliff was born April 14, 1923, in Sugar City, Idaho, to Edward Lewis and Rebecca May Vickery Lewis. He grew up and attended schools in Sugar City. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. On Jan 30, 1947, he married Virginia Noreen Gierisch in Burley, Idaho. She passed away July 15, 2009. Cliff was the office manager and crop supervisor for Del Monte Foods in Idaho Falls until his retirement in 1982. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and among the callings he held was that of a ward clerk and a scout leader. He enjoyed horseback riding, camping, fishing, being in the mountains, working cows with friends, hunting, roping, small dogs, and was an all around handyman. Cliff was a kind and loving father and grandfather as well as a loyal friend. He is survived by the children: Barry (Kristy) Lewis, Kim (Annette) Lewis and Karen (Dave) Frisby all of Idaho Falls; 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, David Jay Lewis, a grandson, David Lewis; brothers: Melvern, Leo and Reese; sisters, Merla, Lila and Irma. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 26, 2011, at the Idaho Falls LDS 19th LDS Ward Chapel, 3370 N. 5 W. The family will visit with friends Friday, March 25, 2011, from 6-8:00 p.m. at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., Idaho Falls, and Saturday one hour prior to the services at the church.
