Obituary

Cole Younger Eck, passed away Saturday afternoon August 06, 2016 due to injuries that he received from a car accident.

Cole Younger was born at noon on April 04, 2009 to Dusty and Jennifer Eck.  Cole was Norman Rockwell's quintessential seven-year-old boy that every young mother dreams her sweet baby will one day become.  Since he took his first breath, his angelic smile has grown the faith of others just as the heavenly rains cultivate life.

Cole was a playful and rambunctious boy who loved spending time outside.  Nothing brought him more joy and never did his smile shine brighter than when he was outside with his family.  He lived to explore the woods near his home, build forts, catch frogs, climb trees, and go to the lake during the summer time.  Cole loved riding four-wheelers, motorcycles, and anything else that was loud or went fast.  His happiness was found when taking bike rides with his family and then stopping off for an ice cream cone afterward.  Cole was motivated by the joy of those who surrounded him.  Generous and giving by nature, he was always thinking of others.  More than once when he knew that family finances were tight, Cole offered his own birthday money to fund the trip to the ice cream shop.

Cole was not the poster-child for the "neat and organized club," but he always helped out when asked and never did a complaining word pass his lips.  Cole enjoyed spending time with his dad out in the wood shop listening to music and building things out of wood.  Cole loved his family, especially his older sister Madisen in a way that can only be described as "absolute and unconditional."  Cole had a cheerful and forgiving disposition that could bring only joy to those around him.  His father and mother would both agree that it was their life's greatest honor and privilege to be Cole's parents.  He was a Christ-like example to everyone around him who could teach a willing and humble heart more about love with his mere presence than many will ever understand through the school of life.

Never again in this life to hear the celestial sound of his laughter, Coles sudden absence has blasted a jagged, gaping hole into the very fabric of his family's soul.  Death's unexpected visit brings with it a tortuous pain that no parent should ever have to feel.  The healing power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ however knows no bounds, not even for this.  It would be so easy to embrace anger and hatred but there is too much of that in the world and besides, that's not what Cole would have wanted.  Coles parents and family hold no guile for his untimely death.

Coles parents and family are utterly overwhelmed by the love, support, and prayers that have been offered on their behalf.  They wish to thank any and all who have made this trying time easier by reaching out.  They are eternally grateful.

Cole's life will be celebrated this Saturday August 13th at the LDS church building on Boulevard and 9th street in Idaho Falls.  There will be a viewing at 11:00 am, funeral service at 12:00 and graveside dedication afterward at the New Sweden Cemetary.  Following the dedication, there will be a picnic at Cole's favorite park, Kate Curley in Idaho Falls.

Arrangements are under the direction of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., Idaho Falls. Condolences and memories can be shared with the family online at www.coltrinmortuary.com
