Obituary

Colleen Marie Christensen Wynn, 59, of Idaho Falls, passed away peacefully at home on January 30, 2006, from cancer. Hospice Alliance assisted the family with her care.

Colleen was born May 26, 1946, in Ontario, Oregon, to David Hubert and Sarah Leone Compton Christensen. She was reared in Nyssa, Oregon. She married Alden C. Wynn on August 23, 1967, for time and all eternity, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.

She is survived by her husband and six children: Melissa (Chad) Sedrick of Corona, California; Stephanie (Mark) Taylor of Roy, Utah; Troy Wynn of Logan, Utah; Heather (Shane) Smuin of Vernal, Utah; Julie (Steve) Crockett of Houston, Texas; Benjamin (Lora) Wynn of Logan, Utah; and 12 grandchildren: Chelsea, Ryan, Jordan, Kaylee, Alex, Davis, Koy, Ethan, Heidi, Kasen, Ke-ning, and Katie. She is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Reona Peterson, Steven Christensen, Marla Christensen, and Harold Christensen. She is preceded in death by her parents; David Hubert and Sarah Leone Christensen, and a younger brother, David Christensen.

She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, who lived to serve others. She was recently released as the Lincoln 3rd Ward Relief Society President. She touched many lives of the people she came in contact with. She also served in other church callings including Primary President and a Young Woman's advisor, which she fulfilled well. She was a Relief Society advisor in the BYU Idaho 6th Stake. She loved serving the students there. She was also a temple worker along with her husband which brought peace into their lives as well as others.

She loved to play with her grandchildren. Her husband, children, and grandchildren brought much joy into her life. She enjoyed spending time with her family camping and fishing in the outdoors. She had a perfect summer this past year, vacationing with loved ones. She loved to smile and had a beautiful one too. She was reunited with her Heavenly Father in the presence of many close family members including all six children.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 3, 2006, at the Lincoln LDS Stake Center, 2545 Mesa. The family will visit with friends Thursday evening, February 2, 2006, from 7-8:30 p.m. at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., Idaho Falls, and at the church on Friday one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park.
