Obituary

Cynthia Lynne Hoffenbacker Kendall, 57, of Idaho Falls, Idaho passed away on December 28, 2015, at her home. She was under the care of Teton Home Health and Hospice.

Cynthia "Cindy" was born July 21, 1958, in Butte, Montana, to Hubert Hoffenbacker and Diana Byrne Hoffenbacker. She grew up in Butte and graduated from Butte High School. She attended and graduated from Idaho State University where she earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Health Education and a minor in dance.


On July 10, 1976, she married Robert Stanley Kendall in Goldhill Lutheran Church in Butte. She worked as a school aid and bus driver in Belgrade, MT and Idaho Falls; a PSR Worker for All Star and Site Security Escort in Idaho Falls; a substitute teacher in Maricopa, AZ and Idaho Falls; and a teacher in Maricopa and Tucson, Arizona.


Cindy's passions were teaching and shopping but above all she was a very caring, bubbly, tender hearted woman who loved her husband, her children and all of her family very much.


She is survived by the following:Husband, Robert Kendall of Idaho Falls; daughters: Debra (Dale) Lentz-Guynes of Snyder, Texas and Michelle (Jason) Barnett of Ammon, Idaho; mother, Diana Hoffenbacker of Ammon, ID; grandsons: Michal, William, and Kyle Johnson of Ammon; Dillon and Colton Barnett of Ammon; Timothy Lentz of Snyder, Texas; a granddaughter, Heather Johnson of Ammon; sisters: Janet (Jim) Earnest of Shelley, Idaho and Nora (Lat) Kendall-Bailey of Butte, MT; brothers: Steve (Marty) Hoffenbacker of Everett, Washington; David (Phil) Hoffenbacker of Gold Canyon, Arizona; Robert (Kim) Hoffenbacker of Idaho Falls; aunts: Kay and Mary Hoffenbacker both of Butte; uncles: Ike Hoffenbacker of Portland, Oregon and Gordon (Lina) Hoffenbacker of Seattle, Washington.


Cindy was preceded in death by her father, Hubert Hoffenbacker; grandparents: Georgia and William Byrne and Helen and William Hoffenbacker and uncle: Eli Hoffenbacker.


Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., today, Thursday, December 31, 2015, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls. The family received friends from 6:00-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 30, 2015. The family will receive friends today, one hour prior to the services. Interment will be at the Iona Cemetery.
