Cynthia Lee Young Schramm, 55, of Idaho Falls, died January 1, 2009, at her parents home in Blackfoot, Idaho, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born October 6, 1953, in Malad, Idaho to Philo B. and Iva Lou Dives Young. She grew up and attended schools in Blackfoot. She graduated from Blackfoot High School in 1972. In July of 1974 she married Robert Paul Schramm Jr.
Cindy's husband was in the Navy and later worked at nuclear sites throughout the United States. They traveled and lived in many states. No matter where they lived, Cindy made friends and touched the lives of the people she met.
Cindy had a strong Christian faith. For the past four years she fought cancer with every available treatment, but she believed that God was in control, regardless of the outcome.
Cindy enjoyed sewing and collecting Precious Moments. She loved dogs and appreciated the beauty of nature. She liked to meet people and could talk to anyone. She loved being around her family and sharing many great times.
Cindy was strong, loving, and vibrant. She maintained a positive outlook after being diagnosed with cancer. The way she treated each day as a gift was an inspiration to us. If you knew Cindy, you knew that her greatest treasure and miracle was Anna--her daughter, her best friend.
Survivors include her husband Robert Paul Schramm Jr. of Idaho Falls; daughter, Anna Lee Snarr (Nick) of Idaho Falls; her parents, Philo B. and Iva Lou Young of Blackfoot; 2 brothers, Dennis Young (Carolene) of Homedale, Idaho, and Brent Young (Cindy) of Burley, Idaho; 4 sisters; Christine Neihart (Dean) of Blackfoot, Julie Woodfin (Rich) of Blackfoot, Debbie Dixon (Marty) of Montpelier, Idaho, and Sandee Young of Blackfoot.
Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2009 at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St. Idaho Falls. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Cynthia Schramm Memorial account at any Idaho State University Credit Union location in Idaho Falls, Blackfoot, and Pocatello. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to all care providers and friends who showed such kind and loving support these past few years. We would especially like to thank Dr. Shull and his wonderful medical staff. We will always remember their caring and compassion for Cynthia. Send condolences, light a candle, and share memories of Cindy at the Cindy Schramm Memorial Website at www.coltrinmortuary.com
