Deborah Jean Ballard Mendoza, 52, of Idaho Falls and formerly of Toledo, Ohio, died December 21, 2008 at her home.

She was born August 16, 1956, in Toledo, Ohio, to William Ballard and Virginia Kenney Ballard. She grew up and attended schools in Toledo. She attended Woodward High School.

On January 15, 1982, she married Robert J. Mendoza in Toledo. They were later divorced.

She was active in Holy Rosary activities. She was a nursing assistant for 22 years. She lived in Ohio for 51 years before moving to Idaho Falls a few months ago.

She enjoyed playing Bingo and doing crafts.

Deborah was a dynamic, kind hearted and loving individual.

She is survived by her sons: Christopher (wife, Mindy Nagle) and Scott Mendoza both of Idaho Falls; sisters: Beverly Bechler and Carolyn O'Keefee both of Traverse City, Michigan; Marilyn Grothause of Iowa; and Margaret Wioskowski of Idaho Falls; brother, William Ballard of madison, Tennessee; and 4 grandchildren: Taijya Mendoza, Alex Worrell, Misty and Taylor Gluesing.
