Della June Pope Isle, 79, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away peacefully at her home Tuesday, May 26, 2015, after battling cancer for three years. Della was born June 6, 1935, in Ogden, Utah, the daughter of LeRoy Burton Pope and Claudia Elisabeth Kimball Pope. She grew up in Garden City, Utah, just a block from Bear Lake. She loved horses and participated in many rodeo events even becoming a Rodeo Queen. Della met her husband, Willis Joseph "Bill" Isle on a blind date at a church New Year's Eve dance. They were married October 4, 1954, in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple and they have been married for over 60 years. Della was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints having served in leadership positions in the Relief Society, Young Women's, Primary and scouting. While living in Virginia, she taught early morning Seminary. Della is survived by her husband, "Bill" Isle of Idaho Falls; children: Sandra Righter, Ken (Cathy) Isle, Kevin (Sharla) Isle, Allen Isle, Michelle (John) Ammon and Sydney Isle; 19 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren with three more on the way this year; sister-in-law, Carol Pope; a brother, Dan (Ruth) Pope; and a brother, James (Stephanie) Pope. Besides her parents, Della was preceded in death by a brother, Blaine Pope. The family would like to thank Dr. Christian Shull and the staff of Teton Cancer Institute, Teton Health and Hospice and Dr. Poston and the staff at Pain Specialists of Idaho. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 6, 2015, at the Idaho Falls LDS 24th Ward Chapel, 1155 First St. The family will visit with friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Friday, June 5, 2015, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., Idaho Falls, and at the church Saturday one hour prior to the services.
