She was born July 16, 1933, in Brinsmade, North Dakota to Arthur Anderson and Ella Strand Anderson. She grew up in Leeds, North Dakota.
In 1949, she married Ernest Elverud. They were later divorced. She married William Ray and they were later divorced. She married Francis Atwood, December 30, 1997 in Idaho Falls.
She was a member of the First Lutheran Evangelical Church and was active in her earlier years.
She enjoyed camping, cross country skiing, fishing, and spending time with her family and friends. Delores was the most giving, spirited, generous woman, and her life was filled with family.
She is survived by the following: husband, Francis Atwood of Idaho Falls; sons: Gary (Lori) Elverud, Jerry Elverud, Roy Elverud, Chris (Heather) Elverud all of Idaho; Falls; daughters: Paulette (Mike) DeHeck and Sandy Schumacher both of Idaho Falls; Bonnie Milford of Loveland, Colorado; Susan (Harm) Toren of Milwaukee, Oregon; and Denise (Dan) Smith of West Bountiful, Utah; sisters: Arlene Steen of Marysville, Washington; Lucille Ketchum of Port Orchard, Washington; and Luella Follman of Leeds, North Dakota; brothers: Russell Anderson, Richard Anderson, and Victor Anderson all of Leeds, North Dakota; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Nelson.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 26, 2007, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., Idaho Falls, with Pastor Dean Lifshay officiating. The family will visit with friends one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Cemetery.
