Dena Gay Summers Staggie, 68, of Idaho Falls, passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2020, at her home. She was under the care of Hands of Hope Hospice.

Dena was born on October 31, 1951, in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Ray W. and Margaret Spencer Summers. She grew up in Ririe, Idaho where she graduated from Ririe High School in 1969. She went on to attend Idaho State University.

On August 29, 1968, she married Stephen Ray Staggie in Idaho Falls. To this union, three children were born: Jake, Stephanie, and Josh. Stephen passed away on December 11, 2016.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She worked at the Good Samaritan Society for 33 years. She loved to go camping, fishing, hunting, and just enjoying spending time with her family. She was an avid piano player.

Dena was an inspiration to all. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She had a heart of gold and will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her children: Jacob Staggie of Idaho Falls, ID, and Stephanie (Frank) Arguello of Lincoln City, OR; her sisters: Onda K Smith of Ririe, ID, and DeLin (Loren) Minert of West Jordan, UT; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Staggie; her son, Josh Staggie; her parents: Margaret and Ray Summers; and her brother, Dale Summers.
