He grew up and attended schools in North Dakota and California. In 1962, he graduated from San Lorenzo High School in California. On May 29, 1965, he married Letha Cardin in Hayard, California. Dennis lived in California, North Dakota, and most recently in Idaho. He was a Born-again-Christian and was a member of Watersprings Church. He loved taking trips to North Dakota, taking a step back in time. He loved spending time with family. He spent many hours watching his grandchildren play sports, sing at school and just sitting at the kitchen table talking about life. Dennis loved hot rods, building and painting cars for his wife and each daughter and making sure that the engine size matched the lead in each girl's foot. His sons-in-law were really the son's he never had. He loved working on cars with them and having long talks about life, love and being a strong family. Dennis loved to call his brothers and sisters and burned up many a cell phone battery as they solved all the worlds' problems. Through all the ups and downs he had his wife, their love has been an inspiration to their children and a legacy to hold. He was loved by many. His soft words, his patience and huge heart will be greatly missed.
