On Sunday, June 26, 2016, Dennis (Denny) Ray Phetteplace was so glad to bless the World with 80 years, 6 months, and 8 days of valuable lessons about life. He was under the care of Hands of Hope Hospice.

Denny was born on December 18, 1935, in The Dalles, Oregon, to Melbourne Albert Phetteplace and Laurel Frances Phetteplace. Denny spent the majority of his childhood and adolescent years in Oregon and graduated from Brookings High School in 1954.

In his passing, Denny left behind no parents; his sister, Judy (Paul) Jaremko of Spokane, WA; wife, Joanne (60 years); daughter, Kelli (Rodney) Cooper of Reno, NV; son, David of Idaho Falls; grandsons: Paul (Jennifer), Brian, Matt, and Tyler; great-grandson, Noah and countless friends.

Denny's ironclad self, dedicated his energy as a Good Samaritan helping any person that crossed his path in need. His impact on society meant never turning his back on any person or project.

He spent many years in Idaho Falls, while, his heart and soul always resided in a special place known as Island Park. Denny was a veteran of the United States Army and exemplified the meaning of courage, honor, and leadership as he made significant sacrifices for his country and family to live a wonderful life. Always rising to the occasion and never stepping down, there is a void in our lives and a space in our hearts for his impactful memories.

The memorial services will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2016, at 1 p.m. at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 1st Street, Idaho Falls, ID 83401. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the mortuary.  Burial will be at Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
