Obituary

Derlin Leeon Campbell, 85, of Idaho Falls, died Thursday, May 17, 2018, at his home. He was under the care of Hands of Hope Hospice.

Derlin was born on October 23, 1932, in Ammon, Idaho to Alfred Easton and Ada E. Owen Campbell, the eleventh child of thirteen. He grew up in Ammon and attended twelve years of school in the old Ammon school building. All of his siblings preceded him in death.

On July 20, 1951, he married DeOn Larsen in Idaho Falls, Idaho. They were married for nearly 67 years.

He is survived by his wife, DeOn; his daughter, Lanette (Ray) Belvins; sons: Leeon Ray Campbell, Kurt Alan (Shelly) Campbell, Vance Derlin (Marcene) Campbell; 19 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, 3 great-great-step grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

He was happiest when he was outdoors and was a skilled archer. He enjoyed oil painting and created many beautiful paintings, many of which he gave to family and friends. He had an avid interest in the American Indian culture and enjoyed flint knapping, and he created many arrowheads and wall plaques.

He was an electrician by trade and is known for his quality work. He was a pioneer in the television electronics industry.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 26, 2018, at the Coltman LDS 3 rd Ward, 6925 N. 15 th East (St. Leon Road). The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 p.m., Friday, May 25, 2018, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls and one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be at Ammon Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.coltrinmortuary.com .
