Devory Dean Simmons, 32, of Iona, died August 31, 2005, in Dehlin, Idaho.

He was born June 13, 1973, in Idaho Falls to Blaine Albert Simmons and Deborah Jane Snarr Simmons. He grew up and attended schools in Iona. In 1992, he graduated from Bonneville High School. He attended Ricks College. On Dec. 16, 1994, he married Stephanie Galley. They were later divorced. On July 9, 2005, he married Valerie Steinke in Ennis, Idaho. He was a modular office installer and at the time of his death he worked as a salesman for Battleson Floor to Ceiling Store. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had served a 2 year mission to the Peoria, Illinois Mission. He earned his Eagle Scout award. He was a member of the Idaho Falls Chamber of Commerce. He enjoyed kayaking, snow skiing, snowmobiling, and motorcycles. He was a loving husband, father, son, and brother who loved to stay busy. He is survived by the following: spouse, Valerie Steinke Simmons of Idaho Falls daughter, Sydney Simmons of Blackoot son, Mitchell Simmons of Blackfoot step-son, Luke Steinke of Idaho Falls parents, Blaine and Jane Simmons of Idaho Falls brother, Jeffrey Simmons of Aleso Viejo, California brother, Casey T. Simmons of Idaho Falls sister, Jessica (Treasure) Simmons of Twin Falls maternal grandparents, Dean and Margaret Snarr of Idaho Falls He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Thurman and Ella Simmons. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday September 6, 2005 at the Iona 8th Ward LDS Chapel at 5169 E. Denning with Bishop Robert P. Nield officiating. The family will visit with friends Monday evening from 6-7:30 p.m. at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St. in Idaho Falls and on Tuesday one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the Iona Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Luke Steinke account for medical expenses at any Bank of Commerce branch in care of Devory Simmons.
