Our loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather returned home to his Heavenly Father on May 18, 2008.
DeWayne was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Emma and Arnold Woolf on February 6, 1932. He grew up in Idaho Falls and attended schools there. At seventeen, he went into the US Army and served his country in the Korean War, receiving the Purple Heart and numerous other medals.
DeWayne married Ruth E. Baker on August 15, 1958. They were later divorced. He was greatly blessed from this marriage with eleven children.
DeWayne married Dawnece Hammer on September 4, 1992. They were great soul mates and loved each other very much. They laughed and played together having lots of enjoyable times. He will be greatly missed.
DeWayne is survived by his wife, his sister, Elmoyne (Orland) Bailey of Idaho Falls, and his ten children all of Idaho Falls; daughters: Carrie, Lori (Brett) Arave, Cindy, Sarah (Kevin) Grover, Mary (Mike) Taylor; sons: Doug, Brian (Jenney, Darren (Deana), John, and Jimmy (Charity); four step children Robert Hammer, Teri (Tige) Wright, Ryan Hammer, and Brandon (Jennifer) Hammer. He has 31 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
DeWayne was preceeded in death by one son, Michael, his parents and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 24, 2008, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street in Idaho Falls. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:00 p.m., Friday, May 23, 2008, at Coltrin Mortuary and one hour prior to the services at the mortuary. Interment will be at the Ammon Cemetery with military rites performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Team and the Idaho Honor Guard.
