Obituary

Diana Nation, 70 of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2015. She was under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho. Diana was born August 1, 1945 in Crawford, Nebraska. She was the third of five children born to Clark and Betty Nation. When she was 10 years old her family moved to Miles City, Montana. When Diana was 11 years old, she became a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She attended Custer County High School and later Miles City Community College. In 1965, Diana married Keith Averett in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They had five children. Diana lived in Rexburg, Plano, Sugar City, Idaho Falls, Pocatello and Rigby. Diana worked at Ricks College from 1978-1989. She also worked for Rigby Thatcher in Rexburg, Idaho and Moffatt Thomas Law Office from 1992 until she retired in 2008. After she retired, she was a Foster Grandparent at Bush Elementary in Idaho Falls, ID. Diana enjoyed dancing, singing in the church choir, doing embroidery, playing the piano and reading. Diana was cheerful and kind to everyone. She loved her family, friends and her church. Diana is survived by her five children: Brad (Lynell) Averett of Tacoma, Washington; Lance Averett of Yelm, Washington; Zane (Monica) Averett of Casper, Wyoming; Ty (Shandra) Averett of Blackfoot; and Brittany (Ryan) Buxton of Roberts. 16 Grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Joanne (Eldon) Morrell of Firth and her brother David (Donna) Nation of Miles City, Montana. Diana is preceded in death by her parents, Clark and Betty Nation and her two brothers, Gordon Earl and Frank Duane Nation. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 24, 2015, at the Roberts 2nd Ward, 663 North 2858 East, Roberts, Idaho. The family will visit with friends from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, September 23, 2015, and one hour prior to services, both at the church. Interment will be at the Roberts Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Eastern Idaho. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.coltrinmortuary.com.
