Don Voyal Harris, 82, of Idaho Falls, passed away Sunday, October 28, 2012, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Don was born September 16, 1930, in Ririe, Idaho, the son of Voyal W. Harris and Mary Leona Moss Harris. His childhood was spent in Ririe. He lived and worked with his Uncle Jack and Aunt Letha Rumsey and their family at the ranch in Kilgore and also with his Uncle Etsel and Aunt Lavella Moss at the ranch in Moore. He served in the U.S. Army in 1952. On December 16, 1967, he married Fonda Rae Peck in Shelley. She passed away February 7, 2003. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Don loved riding horses on his family's ranches and fishing. He enjoyed taking his family for car rides on weekends. He was a fun-loving person, who always had a smile and enjoyed being around people. Don was a loyal friend and eager to help others; he was never afraid to work. He would not let his shortcomings slow him down. He is survived by the following: daughters: Tonja Rae (R.J.) Whiting, Tammy Harris and Tracie Lynn all of Idaho Falls; a son, Troy Don Harris of Pocatello; sisters: Jeanne Dobbins of Redmond, Oregon, and Tanna (Jim) Bookout of Idaho Falls; brothers: Jim (Marrietta) Harris of Boise, and Kirt (Sherry) Harris of Salem, Utah; a sister-in-law, Linda Harris of Ririe; 2 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild with twins on the way. Besides his parents and his wife, Fonda, Don was preceded in death by a daughter, Sonja Kae Harris, and a brother, Steve Harris. Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 1, 2012, at the Ririe Shelton Cemetery under the direction of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., Idaho Falls, with Kirt Harris officiating.
