Obituary

Donald Charles (Tybo) Keithly, of Idaho Falls, passed away on August 7, 2007, at his home with his family by his side.

Don was born on March 19, 1924, in Ontario, Oregon, and spent most of his early years in the Midvale/Cambridge area. His family moved to Boise and he graduated from Boise High School and then joined the U.S. Navy. He served as a crewman aboard a P.T. boat in The Pacific Theater and off the coast of China from 1942-1945.

Don married Betty Lou Perry on May 30, 1947, in Boise and they moved to Pocatello in 1959 and then moved to Idaho Falls in 1966 where he operated his own business as an Insurance claims investigator until he retired.

He was preceded in death by a son, Robert J. Keithly; a grandson, Ian H. Keithly; and his sister, Helen Hearne.

He is survived by his wife, Betty L. Keithly (Idaho Falls); his son, Mike (Shauna) Keithly (Cascade); his son, Steve Keithly (Caldwell); his daughter, Kim David (Boise); his grandson, Jeremy David (Boise); his sister, Jeanne Budge (Scottsdale, AZ) and his brother, Dr. Larry (June) Keithly (Boise).

His greatest joys were fishing, bird hunting, skiing, golf, dancing, and camping out with his family.

By his own request, there will be no funeral service, he wished to be cremated and his ashes spread at his favorite places.

A Wake will be held Saturday August 25, 2007, from 1-3:00 p.m. at the Idaho Falls Elks Lodge, 640 E. Elva, to share memories and laughs with family and friends.
