Don R. Shelton, 72, of Idaho Falls, passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2015, at his home from cancer. He was under the care of Hearts for Hospice. On January 26, 1943, Don was born to Roscoe Raymond and Mary Burton Shelton in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He grew up in Shelley, Milo and Idaho Falls. He graduated from Bonneville High School. Don attended Idaho State University where he earned his Bachelor's Degree. He served in the United States Navy. Don married Ethel Denis, and they were later divorced. He then married Maria G Flores Baez on November 26, 1988, in the Idaho Falls Temple. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and in 1965 he served a mission in Uruguay. Don also taught Priesthood in the Spanish branch. Don was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Maria Shelton, of Idaho Falls, ID His daughters: Flora (Ted) Trujillo, of Flagstaff, AZ Jazmin (Jason) Richman, of Cedar Hills, UT Rosa Shelton, of California His step-daughter, Melinda (Ryan) Johnson, of Kileen, TX His step-sons: Felipe Parra, of Colorado Jose (Bonnie) Parra, of Boise, ID Mario (Melanie) Parra, of Joseph City, AZ Michael Parra, of Idaho Falls, ID His sisters: Meladee Rhodehouse, of Idaho Falls, ID Sandra Davis, of Seattle, Washington His brothers: Jim (Jeri) Shelton, of Tooele, UT Boyd Norvell (Bonnie) Shelton, of North Ogden, UT Burton Shelton, of Idaho Falls, ID Terry (Ilene) Shelton, of Maryland K. Lynn (Terry) Shelton, of Idaho Falls, ID Richard (Susan) Shelton, of Kansas City, KS 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roscoe and Mary Shelton. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 26, 2015, at the Westview LDS Chapel , 2020 Charlotte Dr., with Bishop Ken Anderson officiating. The family will visit with friends from 7-9 p.m., Sunday, October 25, 2015, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., and one hour prior to services at the church.
