Donald Gene Hill, 90, of Idaho Falls, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 27, 2019, at The Homestead in Rexburg Idaho.

He was born July 11, 1929, in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Robert E. Hill and Fanny Marguerite Monsen Hill.

On May 6, 1949, he married his childhood friend, Mary Margaret Lott.

Don graduated from Brigham Young University in Electrical Engineering and worked at the AEC Site in Arco, Idaho; Allied General Nuclear Services in Aiken, South Carolina; ARAMCO (Arabian American Oil Co.) in Saudi Arabia; and then Westinghouse in Las Vegas, Nevada, and Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Don was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  He loved the gospel and served in many callings including the Stake President in the Arabian Peninsula Stake in Saudi Arabia.

Don collected clocks and loved to fix and restore them.  He fixed other people's clocks as well even in his later years.  He loved to garden and do yardwork.  He was a hard worker and loved to help everyone he could that needed his expertise. He was very handy and could fix almost anything.

He loved his family, neighbors, and his many friends.  He was a very friendly person and he had a great sense of humor, and he always made us laugh.  He loved to spend time with everyone.

Don and his wife, Mary, loved to travel with family and friends and saw much of the world.  Don had great stories to tell his children and grandchildren of all their experiences in Saudi Arabia.

He is survived by his son, Don Hill Jr. of Idaho Falls, Idaho; daughters: Marianne (Bill) Sperry of Cave Creek, AZ and Susan (Phillip) Ivey of Salem, Utah; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and his sister Lorraine Wood of Holiday, Utah.

The family will visit with friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Dec 8 ^th at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., Idaho Falls for a Celebration of Life.
