Donald Young Oler, 82, of Gresham, Oregon,and formerly of Idaho Falls, Idaho, died November 2, 2009, in Gresham. He was born October 13, 1927 in Sterling, Alberta, Canada, the son of Donald John and Mary Ellen Young Oler. He was raised and educated in Canada. He continued his education at Idaho State University in Pocatello. On September 18, 1963, he married Wilma Mikesell in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They have lived in Gresham for over 30 years. He worked for Montgomery Ward as a Credit Manager until retiring in 1985. Don enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing the organ and swimming. He is survived by his wife, Wilma Oler of Gresham; daughters: Kimberli Anderson of Auburn, Washington, and Debbie Shaw of Vancouver, Washington; brothers: Clair Oler of Idaho Falls, Kirt Oler of Provo, and JC Oler of West Valley City, Utah; and 5 grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 6, 2009, the Stark Street LDS Church, 22801 SE Stark St., in Gresham. The family will visit with friends prior to the services. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Shelley, Idaho, Thursday, November 12, 2009, at 1:30 p.m. Funeral services will be under the direction of Gresham Memorial Chapel, 257 SE Roberts Ave., Gresham, OR; 503-618-8176.
