Donald "Don" Albert Walters, 75, of Island Park, passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at Teton Post-Acute Care in Idaho Falls.
Don was born on December 20, 1940, to William Albert and Ida Marie Powell Walters, in Wilford, Idaho. He had one brother and one sister. He grew up in the Idaho Falls and St. Anthony area. He attended Idaho Falls High School. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Geology from University of Idaho.
He served in the United States Navy from 1958 to 1977. He worked on aircrafts throughout his service. He was stationed in Oxnard, Escondido and Lemoore, California and in Jacksonville, Florida. After he retired from the military he worked as a geologist for Sperry Sun, where he worked all over the world.
On July 1, 1959, he married Patricia Lynn McDonald in Idaho Falls. Together they had three children. They lived in the Island Park, Idaho area, where he enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and rock hounding.
Don was a loving, loyal father, husband and friend.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia L. Walters, of Island Park, ID; his children: Margot B. (Mark) Stewart, of Idaho Falls, ID, Jay A. (Lori) Walters, of Zilla, WA, Joni L. (Rodney) Pace, of Farmington, NM; his brother, Jerry L. Walters, of Idaho Falls, ID; his sister Brenda K. Ward, of St. Anthony, ID; 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William A. Walters and Ida M. Lambert.
