Donean Robertson Judy, 61, of Ammon, passed away December 18, 2007 from a courageous battle of multiple myeloma. She was under the loving care of her family and Hospice Alliance.
She was born July 13, 1946 in Blackfoot, Idaho, to Dean William and Donna Williams Robertson on their second wedding anniversary.
She attended grade schools in Dubois, Idaho Falls, Ammon and graduated from Bonneville High School. Her high school achievements included various student government offices and Miss Bonneville 1964. She was crowned Miss War Bonnet Queen later that year.
After high school she continued her education at Ricks College studying Elementary Education and Nursing.
She married her grade school sweetheart, Lyle Clifford Judy, on August 27, 1965 in the Idaho Falls temple. They were blessed with nine children.
Donean devoted most of her life raising her nine children. She loved to make the Christmas season magical and was often found making dolls, quilts, dresses, and home baked goodies for gifts.
She enjoyed life and the outdoors. Her family spent many beautiful winters snowmobiling together and with the Ammon Trail Riders. Horse back riding, camping, hunting with her children, and 4-wheeling with her husband in the beautiful mountains of Idaho were her special memories.
She took great pleasure in her musical talents, singing and playing in many groups. Donean was also a proud member of the Robertson Clan Cloggers, along with her children, siblings and their spouses, and her mother and father. They performed around southeastern Idaho, Seattle and Utah dance festivals. Their crowning performances and memories are of representing the United States at the Rexburg International Folk Dance Festival in 1989.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she Served faithfully in many leadership capacities. Her latest love was as a Relief Society Advisor at BYU Idaho.
She is survived by her husband, Lyle Clifford Judy of Ammon; and children, Rhett (Claudine) Judy of Ammon; Natalie (Joel) Hammer of Meridian; Justin (Carleen) Judy of Ammon; Lance (Katie) Judy of Rigby; Shalean (Rick) Weston of Providence, UT; Heather (Darrell) LaFever of Rigby; Clint Judy of Ammon; DaNae (Randy) Slade of Provo, UT. She has 23 ½ beautiful grandchildren. She is also survived by her mother, Donna Robertson of Ammon, and siblings Diana (Glen) Burke of Ammon, Dell (Syd) Robertson of Iona, Doyle (Delia) of Ammon.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lori Judy and her father, Dean Robertson.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 21, 2007, at the LDS Sunnyside Building, 4375 East Sunnyside Road, with Bishop Craig Tibbitts of the Ammon 24th Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., Idaho Falls and one hour prior to the services at the church on Friday. Interment will be in the Ammon Cemetery.
