Donna Williams Robertson, 85, died at her home in Ammon April 22, 2010. She was under the care of her family and Idaho Home Health & Hospice. Donna was born on January 10, 1925, to Joseph Elmer and Vera Marsden Williams in Thomas, Idaho. She graduated from Moreland High School in 1943 and then attended nurses training at I.F. LDS Hospital. She was a war bride; marrying Dean William Robertson in the Logan Temple in 1944 five days before he left to serve in WWII. Donna was an avid reader. This led her to a great love and knowledge of the Constitution. She was active in Republican Women and worked many hours for constitutionally minded candidates. She loved horseback riding and spent much time in the mountains with her husband, family and youth groups. This love of animals and nature lead them to participate in the sesquicentennial reenactment of the Mormon Wagon Train in 1997. Her next love was snowmobiling with the Ammon Trail Riders. They spent many years on the glorious snow of Idaho which she often said was a "celestial sport." Donna and her husband, Dean, "Rob" loved to dance and were members of the Seranada Dance Club. They were proud of the fact they were the oldest members of the Robertson Clan Cloggers, a family dancing troupe. They performed around Eastern Idaho from 1987 until 1992. Their greatest memories were representing the United States at the International Folk Dance Festival in Rexburg in 1989, the Folk Life Festival in Seattle, and the Dance Festival in Springville, UT. She served as Ammon Stake MIA President, Relief Society President, Primary Teacher, Sunday School Teacher and temple officiator for 16 years. She and her husband served a mission in 1992-1993 to the Aba, Nigeria Mission. She loved the association of the sisters in the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and Super Sisters. Donna had a great gift making people feel loved and wanted. The love she had for her family always put them at the top of her priorities list. She loved being where they were. She is survived by her children: Lyle Judy (son-in-law); Diana (Glen) Burke; Dell (Sydney) Robertson all of Idaho Falls, and Doyle (Delia) Robertson of Soda Springs; 22 grandchildren and 46 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, daughter Donean, granddaughter Lori, her brothers Marsden, Boyd, Max and her twin brother, Dean Williams; and her sister Vera Mae Harward. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 26, 2010, at the Ammon LDS Sunnyside Building, 4375 E. Sunnyside Rd., with Bishop Ron Poulsen of the Ammon LDS 22nd Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Sunday, April 25, 2010, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., Idaho Falls, and Monday one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.coltrinmortuary.com
