IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Donna Bowcutt
Stucki
March 9, 1936 – February 21, 2020
Donna Bowcutt Stucki, 83, of Idaho Falls, ID peacefully passed away on February 21, 2020, at Idaho Falls Community Hospital. She left this life with her devoted family at her side. She was a loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She was born March 9, 1936, to William Lavern Bowcutt and Rhoda Mae Loveland in Idaho Falls, Idaho where she spent most of her life. She was a graduate of Ammon High School.
Donna was somewhat of a tomboy as she grew up, walking around with no shoes, boxing the girls at school, playing baseball as good as the boys, and playing pranks. She knew how to play, but she knew how to work too. She picked and weeded potatoes, thinned, hoed and topped beets, tramped hay, and drove the derrick. She was a soda jerk at Fogg Drug, a waitress at Black Angus.
On November 3, 1954, Donna married Roger Stucki, the love of her life, in Taylor, Idaho. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple on April 25, 1958. Together they raised six children, ran a dairy, and operated a farm growing potatoes, hay, and barley as well as pigs, chickens, cows, and sheep.
Donna was a fan of Elvis, and a lover of puzzles, Coke, country music, and collecting Santa Claus. But, above all, she loved her family. Her home was a gathering spot for family and friends. All were welcome whether it was time for a Sunday visit, birthday party, cookout, or just any other day of the week.
She is survived by her sister Elva Dalton and brothers Boyd and Mike Bowcutt and Jimmy Larkin; her six children and their spouses: David (Cindy) Stucki, Gary Stucki, Carolyn (Jeff) Bryant, Larry (Teresa) Stucki, Deanna Stucki, and Kellie (Brett) Drake. She was also survived by 21 grandchildren and 53 great-grandchildren who each were made to feel as if they were her favorite. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Joyce Kilinski and Sharon Finstad, brothers Roy, Wayne, and Bill Bowcutt, her daughters-in-law Dene Douglass Stucki and Mindy Jeppson Stucki, and her husband of 62 years, Roger Stucki.
She will be remembered as a hard-working farmer's wife, self-taught seamstress, quilter, home cook, practically world-famous potato salad maker, wooden spoon wielder, fierce mouse-milker, and a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 28, 2020, at Grant Central Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 p.m., Thursday, February 27, 2020, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls. Online condolences may be sent to www.coltrinmortuary.com .
