She was born December 9, 1924, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to James Monroe and Edna Geneva Fox Brown. She grew up in Idaho Falls and attended schools in Ammon.

She married Gordon Culver on October 26, 1946, in Driggs, Idaho. He died July 5, 1999.

She lived her entire life in Idaho Falls and worked as a taxi cab dispatcher and also at Printcraft Press for about twenty total years.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She loved to read, play cards, take vacations with her daughter and grandchildren, watch her grandsons play baseball from six years old through High School, then softball in their later years.

She is survived by her daughter, LaDawna Seward of Shelley; sister, Ann E. Thompson of Idaho Falls; sister, Fern McMurtrey of Rigby; 4 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Gordon, her parents, and nine brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 1, 2009, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the mortuary. Interment will be at Grant-Central Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dorothy Culver fund at any Bank of Commerce.
