Obituary

Dorothy Taggart Dahle Clarke, 80, of Ammon, died June 5, 1997, at her home from complications of diabetes.

She was born December 9, 1916, in Ogden, Utah, to Jasper Seaman and Cecil June Thompson Taggart. She grew up and received her early education in South Weber, Utah, and graduated from high school in Aberdeen, Idaho.

On November 14, 1936, she married Jack Wilford Dahle. The major part of their married lives was spent in Southeast Idaho in agriculture. They were twice involved in defense work in California for a few years. She was an excellent cook and had been employed in the food preparation industry in Idaho, Utah and California. Her husband died July 16, 1979. She later married Harden Clarke and he also preceded her in death.

A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served as homemaking leader, Primary Teacher for Special Needs Children, as a choir member, and in later years often attended the temple. She was also a member of the Gemstate Dialysis Association. She loved music and enjoyed playing the violin, making quilts, and was a wonderful cook, known for her cinnamon rolls, Christmas fudge and banquet dinners. She leaves a legacy of family, friends and neighbors who were lifted by her warm spirit and love.

Survivors include her children, Dorothy Carolyn Clark of Lake Oswego, Oregon, Doris Marie Collet of St. Louis, Missouri, Betty Rae Gauthier of Oceanside, California, Gena Conrad of Las Vegas, Nevada, Penny Atkinson of Brigham City, Utah, Neil Taggart Dahle of San Diego, California, and Dean Taggart Dahle of West Jordan, Utah; a brother, Lynne Mack Taggart of American Falls, Idaho; two sisters, Helen Wride of Aberdeen and Valene Heer of Rexburg, Idaho; 31 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Max T. Dahle; a daughter, Jacquelyn; a brother, Lyle Jasper Taggart; and a sister, Irma Aileen Taggart.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m., at the Ammon LDS 3rd Ward, 2945 Selway, with Bishop Neil Allen officiating. The family will meet with friends Friday from 7-8:30 p.m., at Coltrin Colonial Mortuary, 2100 First Street in Idaho Falls, and Saturday for one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
