Dorothy Elise Decker, 86, of Blackfoot and formerly of Idaho Falls, Idaho passed away March 8, 2016, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
She was born July 4, 1929, in Idaho Falls to Hans Peter Jorgenson and Carrie Nielsen. She grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls.
On June 4, 1954, she married William "Bill" Melvin Decker in Idaho Falls.
In 1963, they moved from Idaho Falls to Blackfoot. Bill passed away April 16, 2006. Dorothy continued to make her home in Blackfoot.
Dorothy is survived by the following:
sons: Jim (Verla) Decker of Idaho Falls and Leonard (Deanna) Decker of South Jordan, Utah; a daughter: Elizabeth Decker of Blackfoot; grandchildren: Jason (Janelle) Jackman of Ucon; Gerald (Michelle) Jackman of Blackfoot; Shanon Ridenoor of Saratoga Springs, Utah; Benjamin (Melanie) Decker of West Valley, UT; and Allison (Jordan) Recksiek of Taylorsville, UT; great-grandchildren: Alexander "Xander", Elsha, Adabelle "Belle" Kalli, Destiny, Kolton, Chance, Jacob and Gaige; and a sister, Jody (Ted, deceased) Anderson of Ammon.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, William "Bill" Decker, 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Gables of Ammon for their hard work in taking care of Dorothy for the past few months.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to a charity of your choice.
Private family services will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., Idaho Falls.
