Obituary

Dortha Caroline "Dot" Decoria, 95, of Idaho Falls, and formerly of Auburn, Washington, died March 22, 2007, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls. She was born March 12, 1912, in Hatch (near Chesterfield), Idaho, the twin daughter of Joseph R. Detton and Hilva Johnson Detton. She grew up in Southern Idaho and graduated from Kimberley High School.

On December 27, 1932, she married Alfred Ben DeCoria in Logan, Utah. She lived throughout the Pacific Northwest and Pennsylvania as her husband's work in heavy construction required them to make many moves.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as the Stake Young Women President, Ward Primary and Relief Society President, the Sunday School Gospel Doctrine teacher, and many other positions in the auxiliaries.

She was an active member of the State and National Republican Party, President of the Parent-Teacher organization, and a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers (DUP).

She enjoyed oil painting, writing, reciting poetry, singing, playing the piano, and crocheting.

Dot welcomed everyone in her home; she left a legacy of poetry and songs for her children and grandchildren that will always be remembered through all time.

She is survived by the following: son, Alfred J. (Janet) DeCoria of Idaho Falls, Idaho brother, Karl (Lois) Detton of Burley, Idaho brother, Gene (Jeanine) Detton of Amarillo, Texas 12 grandchildren 38 great-grandchildren 9 great-great-grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred B. DeCoria; a son, Glen Douglas DeCoria; a daughter, Bette Marie Keltner; 7 brothers, and 1 sister.

Funeral services will be at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, March 24, 2007, at the Idaho Falls LDS 31st Ward, 1165 Azalea Dr., with Bishop Terry Hale officiating. The family will visit with friends one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday, March 26, 2007, in the Mountain View Cemetery in Auburn, Washington. Arrangements are under the direction of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., Idaho Falls, Idaho.
