Our beloved mother and grandmother, Dorothy Fullmer Anderson, 84, of Idaho Falls, returned home to her Heavenly Father on September 27, 2011. She was born February 25, 1927, in St Anthony, Idaho to Edgar O. and Rhoda Mae Fullmer, the youngest of eight children. She attended schools in St. Anthony, Idaho, and graduated valedictorian of her high school class. She attended Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho. She married Franklin Dick Anderson, in Los Angeles, California in 1947. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Dorothy and Frank had nine children - five daughters and four sons. Dorothy's children and family were her life and passion; her favorite activities were family gatherings. Dorothy was an optimist - always cheerful and outgoing. She loved people and spent her life encouraging and uplifting others. She was always accommodating; her home was always open to family, neighbors and friends - no matter the hour or situation. Dorothy was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many callings over the years. Her church membership was an important part of her life. After her husband passed away in 1985, she fulfilled her lifetime dream of becoming a missionary and served in the New York Mission. She also enjoyed being part of a study group for many years that met regularly to study the scriptures or books related to the gospel. Dorothy was a good sport and willing to join in almost any activity. She loved traveling and took many trips over her lifetime. She also loved nature and enjoyed watching birds, squirrels, or any other animals. Dorothy was intelligent, loved to read, and was particularly good at math and English.She also loved music and sang cheerfully to her children to wake them each morning. She sang in a trio in high school and was a chorister in church for many years. Dorothy worked for Pillsbury in Shelley, Idaho, for many years. She is survived by her children: Franklin Don (Kathie) Anderson, West Jordan, UT; LaDean Anderson, Idaho Falls, ID; Shawna Kay (Jerry) Bellon, Millville, UT; Klane Brian Anderson, Atlanta, GA; Joni Mae (Charlie) Mattson, Firth, ID; Jill Marie Cortello, Salt Lake City, UT; Ryan Cameron Anderson, Idaho Falls, ID; and Jaelyn (Jeff) Hansen of Shelley, ID; thirty grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Dick, her son, Chris Devon, her daughter-in-law, Judy Jenkins Anderson (Don), her granddaughter, Sara Ann Anderson (Klane), her parents and seven siblings. The family would like to sincerely thank daughters Joni and Jaelyn for their kind and loving care of their mother these last seven years. They would also like to thank the wonderful caregivers of Hospice of Eastern Idaho. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011, at the Mountain View LDS Ward Chapel, 1450 Mountain View Lane, Idaho Falls with Bishop's Counselor, Gene Reese officiating. The family will meet with friends Friday from 6-8:00 p.m. at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls, and also an hour prior to the services on Saturday. Internment will be at the Taylor Cemetery.
