Dorothy May Hammer Judy, 85, of Ammon, Idaho, passed away Feb. 18, 2006, of natural causes.
She was born July 10, 1920, in Idaho Falls, the daughter of Lewis and Louisa Day Hammer. She grew up in Ammon and graduated from Ammon High School in l938. She attended the University of Idaho and received her teaching certificate.
On March 31, 1942, she married Ira Judy in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They lived and raised their family in Ammon. Summers were spent on the dry farm at Ozone where they farmed and ranched. After retiring, winters were spent in Yuma, Arizona.
She held many positions in Primary, YWMIA, Relief Society, Scouting, and the Family History Center. She looked forward to the family gatherings at the Noon Creek Shelter and she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, gardening, reading, camping, fishing, and family. Dorothy found joy in serving others, especially her family, and was an example to all who knew her,

a daughter, Susann (Kim) Kohler, Idaho Falls
sister, Sharlene Anderton, Henefer, Utah
sister, Glenda Sharp, Sugar City, Idaho
20 grandchildren, 29 great- grandchildren
She was preceded in death by a brother, a sister, a grandson, and 2 great-grandsons.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2006, at the Ammon 18th Ward LDS Church, 4459 John Adams Parkway. The family will meet with friends from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, and also an hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery.
