Dorothy Chapple, 79, of Idaho Falls, passed away July 30, 2010. She was born January 2, 1931 in Downey, Idaho to Howard and Erma (Bloxham) McVey. She grew up in Tracyton, Washington where she graduated from Central Kitsap High School in Silverdale, Washington. She attended beauty school there before moving back to Swan Valley, Idaho. She worked at a beauty salon in Idaho Falls, and also worked at the Snowball Café in Palisades where she met Jack Chapple. They were married in Twin Falls, Idaho on June 1, 1956. They bought a home in Ammon where they raised their four children. Dorothy worked at Hyway Drug until she retired. Dorothy loved being outdoors in the summers. Her favorite hobby was working in her yard for hours where she enjoyed planting. Her favorite was roses. Her yard was her pride and joy. Dorothy and Jack loved camping. Every weekend they would load up the trailer and head for the hills, a lot of times the grandkids were in tow. She also enjoyed traveling. Each year she would have at least one trip planned. Survivors include Val (wife Trudee) Chapple, Pat Chapple, Dixie Weaver, Jackie (husband Blaine) Davis, Dixie Keith (sister), and Lew (wife Gloria) McVey (brother) all of Idaho Falls, and sisters Venna Munroe of Bremerton Washington and Beth Johanson of Portland Oregon. She had nine wonderful grandchildren and eight wonderful great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack, her parents, three sisters, two brothers, and a son-in-law. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at 1 p.m. at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls. The family will visit with friends and family Tuesday, August 3, 2010 from 6-7:30 p.m. at Coltrin Mortuary and one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Ririe-Shelton cemetery.
