Dorothy Aurella Wilson, 86, of Ammon, passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at her home.
Dorothy was born on July 25, 1938, in Portland, Oregon, to Arthur J Hedman and Otelia J Steveson Hedman. She grew up in Portland and graduated from Franklin High School in 1956. She was the president of the female students and a straight-A student, she was on the high school debate team. She earned a scholarship to Brigham Young University.
On July 31, 1956, she married Dale Leon Wilson in the Los Angeles Temple. To this union two children were born, Teri and Scott. They were later divorced. She lived in Los Angeles, California, Portland, Oregon, and finally Idaho Falls, Idaho.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in various positions and as Relief Society President. She was a hard worker and enjoyed gardening, dancing, and cross-stitching. She was devoted to her family and children as a single mother.
She is survived by her daughter, Teri (Brett) Marshall of Idaho Falls, Idaho; her son, Scott (Belkis) Wilson of Eagle Mountain, Utah; her sisters: Lori (Larry) Dickinson of Lake Oswego, Oregon and Gaylene (David) Dunham of Aloha, Oregon; her brother, John (Julie) Hedman of Sandy, Utah; 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, March 22, 2025, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 2349 Virlow Street, Idaho Falls. The family will visit with friends and family from 11:00-11:45 a.m., prior to services at the church. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m., March 29, 2025, at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery at 11801 SE Mount Scott Blvd, Portland, Oregon. Local arrangements are under the direction of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.coltrinmortuary.com.
