He was born Dec. 5, 1924, in Ririe, Idaho, in the home of his parents, James Elmer and Zella Romane Webster. He grew up in Ririe and Eagle Rock (now known as Idaho Falls), and received his GED in 2001.
He served in the military during World War II. He married Marguerite Ellen Lawrence March 14, 1943, in Kenton, Ohio. They were later sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. She died Dec. 5, 1982.
Over the course of his life, he lived in Ririe, Idaho Falls, and Grand Rapids, Ohio. He worked at Jeffer's Fruit Market, Duller Jarvis of Ohio, Idaho Livestock Auction, and the Thrifty Nickel.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and was a High Priest. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, reading, going to western movies and being with family.
Everyone loved him, and everyone loved his caring, loving, giving, loyal, strong willed ways and his good sense of humor.
Survivors include 5 sons; Larry (Judy) Webster, Idaho Falls, Jim (Linda) Webster, Idaho Falls, Ray Webster Jr., Idaho Falls, and Steve Webster, Salmon, ID, and Mike Webster, of Idaho Falls; 2 daughters, Zella Green, Yakima, Washington, and Cathy Webster, of Idaho Falls; 3 sisters, Norva Hall, of Apache Junction, Arizona, Donna Thompson, Fresno, CA, Melba Hensley, Kingsburg, CA; and a brother, Keith Webster (Una May), of Ohio; a sister-in-law, Medora Webster of Idaho Falls; 30 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren, and 20 great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marguerite Ellen Webster; his parents, James and Zella Webster; a daughter, Joan Fitch; 2 sons-in-law, Gale Fitch, and David Green; a daughter-in-law, Eyleen Webster; 2 brothers, Merlin Webster, and Claude Webster; and a sister, Elda Anderson; and by his second wife, Dena.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 13, 2007, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday evening at the mortuary and for an hour prior to the services on Saturday. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery where military rites will be provided by the Idaho Veterans Honor Guard and the Bonneville County Veterans Team.
