Obituary

Douglas Hegsted Crapo, 77, of Menan died Wednesday, October 11, 2006, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center from injuries received during a collison north of Idaho Falls on Sept. 29, 2006. Douglas, the only son of Floyd George Crapo, and Alice Hegsted, was born on the Salem, Madison County, farm of his grandparents, Hans Christian, and Rebecca May Walker Hegsted on April 1, 1929. After 10 years of traveling throughout the Western states with his father's construction job, tha family moved to a farm in Aberdeen in 1945, where Doug was a High School graduate in 1946. The family then moved to Sacramento, CA in 1948. Following four years in the US Air Force, Doug worked for the federal government in Sacramento until his retirement, at which he and his wife Carol, who preceded him in 2004, moved to Menan.

Doug is survived by his sister, Geraldine Rudloff of Rancho Murieta, CA; and two nephews, Richard Norman Johnson of Petaluma, CA, and Wayne Douglas Johnson, Wayne's Tatiana Johnson, and step-son, Grigor.

Per Doug's wishes, no services will be held, and cremation will be arranged by Coltrin Mortuary.
