Obituary

Douglas Deverl Hansen, 71, of Idaho Falls, passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at his home.

Douglas was born on March 23, 1952, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Andrew Deverl Hansen and Reva Russell Hansen. He grew up in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1970.

In October 1971, he joined the United States Air Force. He was stationed at Lackland Air Force Base. He served in Laughlin, Iraklion, Kunsun, and retired from Cannon Air Force Base in November 1991 with the rank of Master Sergeant. He earned the USAF Marksmanship Award.

On July 7, 1973, he married Rosanne Sharon Laubs in San Antonio, Texas. To this union, two children were born.

Upon retiring from the Air Force, he returned to Idaho Falls rejoining with his family. He worked at Sears and the Grand Teton Mall as a maintenance supervisor.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed woodworking and collecting Disney videos. His favorite pastime was to go on family drives, especially through Yellowstone National Park.

He is survived by his wife, Rosanne Hansen of Ammon, Idaho; his son, Douglas Deverl (Kristi) Hansen Jr. of Iona, Idaho; his daughter, Jaime Hansen of Ammon, Idaho; his brothers: Wayne Hansen of Ammon, Idaho and Brian (Marie) Hansen of Marion, Kentucky; his sisters: Vada Taylor of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Reva (Rick) Oelschlager of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Rhonda Hansen of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Brenda (Kent) Costley of Salt Lake City, Utah; 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Andrew Deverl Hansen and Reva Lola Russell Hansen; his brother, Allen Wade Hansen; his sister, Neta Marlene Hansen; his sister-in-law, Lora Hansen; his brother-in-law, Duane Taylor; and his grandson, Johnathan Douglas Hansen.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 3, 2023, at Coltrin Mortuary. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m., Thursday, November 2, 2023, and one hour prior to the services at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street. Interment will be held in the Ammon Cemetery. Military rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Team and the United States Air Force. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.coltrinmortuary.com.
