Douglas "Doug" Lee Johnson, 62, of Idaho Falls, passed away October 12, 2013, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center from injuries sustained in a car accident. He was born December 1, 1950, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Donald L. Johnson and Betty Lee Johnson. He grew up in Shelley, and graduated from Shelley High School in 1969. He attended Ricks College until enlisting in the United States Army. He served in the United States Army from 1970-1971, in the Army Military Police. He married Barbara Dalton on June 7, 1974, in Idaho Falls. He lived in Shelley most of his life working on the farm. Later, he worked for Bonneville Paving, H&K Contractors, Beco Construction and Frontier Paving until illnesses forced him into an early retirement. Doug loved long car rides, especially in the mountains and along the South Fork. He is survived by the following: Wife, Barbara Johnson of Idaho Falls; Son, Richard (Amy) Johnson of Idaho Falls; Daughter, Darcy Johnson of Oregon; Grandchildren, Tyler, Baylee and Zoey of Idaho Falls; Kash and Ivy of Oregon; Sisters, Vicky (Elmer) Raduechel of Idaho Falls, Shurri (Will) Rodriguez of Texas, Becky (Ken) Louk of Idaho Falls, and Pam Barney of Idaho Falls; Brothers, Brent Johnson of Alaska and Glade (Dee) Barney of Nevada.
