Doyle Ellis, 86, of Idaho Falls, died Saturday, May 19, 2018, at Tambree Meadows, surrounded by his family. He was under the care of OneSource Hospice.
Doyle was born on August 14, 1931, in Taylor, Idaho to Roy and Lillian Lamb Ellis. He grew up in Oregon and graduated from Camas Valley High School in 1949. He joined the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
On October 3, 1954, he married Adrianne Renae Skinner in Elko, Nevada.
As a young man Doyle worked in the timber in Oregon. After marrying Renae, Doyle started work at the Idaho National Laboratory, for General Electric and Westinghouse, where he worked for 40 years.
Doyle was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gold panning-dredging, metal detecting, hiking and being outdoors.
He is survived by his wife, Renae Ellis of Idaho Falls, Idaho; his sons: Bruce (Debbie) Ellis of Blackfoot, Idaho and Craig (Tami) Ellis of Devils Elbow, Missouri; his daughter, Cheryl (Robert) Wayman of Perry, Utah; 11 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers: James Albert, Malcolm Lavern, Gerald and Donald; three sisters: Afton LaRue, Leona Pearl and Alta Vernetta.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., June 2, 2018, at the Kearney LDS 2 nd Ward, 1860 Kearney. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., June 1, 2018, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls and one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be at the Shelley-Hillcrest Cemetery. Military Rites will be performed. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.coltrinmortuary.com .
