Obituary

Duane E Rose, 82, of Idaho Falls, passed away January 12, 2013, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 8, 1930, in Paradise, Utah, to George Edgar and Mabel Rawlins Rose. He grew up in St. Anthony, and attended St. Anthony High School. He received his GED and attended Ricks College. He was a member of the United States Army. He married Barbara "Bobbie" Edginton, in St. Anthony on September 23, 1954. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on August 10, 1956. He worked in the vending business and also construction. He worked as a security guard for the Idaho Falls LDS Temple and for Bonneville Security. He especially loved his security work. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held various positions in the church. He enjoyed reading, fishing, and in his later years, he enjoyed going for drives with his grandson, Keenan. He enjoyed watching the Utah Jazz and the Boise State Bronco Football team. Our dad was a loving husband, great dad, and grandpa. He was a dedicated friend and a hard worker. We love you Dad! We will miss you! He is survived by the following: Wife, Bobbie Rose of Idaho Falls;Daughters: Stacey (Bill, deceased) Moore and Shelli (Ron) Ricks both of Idaho Falls; a son, Ryan (Jennifer) Rose of Meridian; brothers: Doyle (Linelle) Rose of West Jordan, Utah, and Ron (Lynette) Rose of St. Anthony; sisters: Veda Mae Dalley of St. Anthony and Verla Terry of Parker; sisters-in-law: Patty Rose and Ann Rose both of St. Anthony, LaRae Rose of Ogden, Utah, and Elva Rose of Idaho Falls, 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers: Dean, Gary, Merrill and Garth and brothers-in-law: Ed Dalley and Larin Terry. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 18, 2013, at the Thayerwood LDS Ward, 5255 South 5th West (Park Road), Idaho Falls, with Bishop Phil Sorensen officiating. The family will receive friend from 7:00-8:30 p.m., Thursday, January 17, 2013, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls, and one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will be at Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery. Military rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Team and the Idaho Military Honor Guard.
