Duane Shelby, 51 of Idaho Falls, Idaho passed away in his home on Saturday, January 8 ^th at approximately 1:00 am. He was born to J.C. & Shirley Shelby in Prineville, OR on August 24 ^th , 1970. Being the jokester that he was, his death happened on the 50 ^th birthday of his girlfriend where we are certain he planned so that he could have the last word with her and ruin her birthday from here on out.

His most favorite thing in life was the band Motley Crue of which he saw 7 times. Tearing down their posters off his walls in his high school years was the only effective way his parents ever punished him for his mischievous acts & it was something he remembered till his last breath. Over the course of his last 10 years of life, Duane suffered from the very painful effects of rheumatoid arthritis. Even amidst his pain & suffering, he was always up for telling a joke to make everyone laugh. He also loved Star Wars, Nascar & cats.

He is survived by his girlfriend of 19 years Tracie Smith of Idaho Falls, his daughter Brittany Harnden of Prineville, OR, his granddaughter Bristol Lowenstein of Prineville, OR, his mother Shirley Shelby & sister Kim Shelby both of Albany, OR & several other aunts, uncles & cousins.  He was preceded in death by his father J.C. Shelby, aunt Carolyn Powell, uncle Kenneth Gumm & his beloved cats Buffy & Monty.
