Obituary

Our wonderful father, loving, husband and proud grandfather, Dwain H. Judy, passed away on March 6, 2006. He had been fighting a strong battle with cancer for over a year and his body was tiring. So his Heavenly Father, with the help of his mother, Dorothy, who also just passed away on February 18th, helped guide him to a much better place. At the time of his death he was 59 years old. He was born on May 3rd, 1946, in Idaho Falls to Ira and Dorothy Hammer Judy. He grew up in Ammon and attended the schools there. He graduated from Bonneville High School in 1964. Soon after his graduation, he married the love of his life, Louise Bowles. Everybody said that it wouldn't last, but forty one years later they were still proving those critics wrong. In 1966, they had their first child, Michelle. Later he joined the Idaho National Guard and served in Vietnam with the 116th Engineer Company. Shortly after he left for Vietnam, Louise gave birth to the son, Kirk. The family briefly moved to Boise and he learned the trade that would help him support his family. They moved back to Ammon and he started Quality Lawn Sprinkling, a company that flourished until he could no longer work because of the cancer throughout his body. His main love besides his family was the outdoors. He could often be found fishing on the Salmon River, or hunting in Bone. He made many friends on the river and always enjoyed showing everyone how to correctly catch fish, or at least tell stories how to. He enjoyed spending many hours at his family's farm and playing with his two grandchildren. Lindsay and Kaleb were the reason he endured the pains of his disease as long as he did. They were his little angels and he was their best pal. They will miss him mor that anyone will know. He will always be remembered as a man that loved his family and would help anyone he could. This world may have lost someone that is truly very special, but he will always be by our side and in our hearts to guide us. Survivors include his forever bride, Louise of Ammon, Idaho, his daughter, Michelle Horton and her husband, George, from Idaho Falls, Idaho, and his son Kirk Judy and his wife, Jerda, from Ammon, Idaho. He also has two loving grandchildren, Lindsay Keele and Kaleb Judy. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 9th, 2006, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls, Idaho. The family will meet with friends from 6:30-7:30 p.m., Wednesday evening at the mortuary and also an hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Ammon Cemetery.
