Obituary

Edith Olaveson Crook, 95, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away Monday, February 22, 2016, at her home.

Edith was born on June 1, 1920, to Hans Emanuel and Bena Maude Christopherson Olaveson. She grew up in the Menan area. She attended Midway School thru the eighth grade.

On September 20, 1941, she married her true love Shirrel Lish Crook, in Idaho Falls. They were sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple in 1961. Together they raised six children. Shirrel died on June 24, 1996.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Edith had many hobbies; she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, bowling, woodworking and gardening. Many benefitted from Edith's many acts of kindness and charity.

She was loved by all who knew her, and will be missed by all.

She is survived by her daughters: Judy Crook, of Idaho Falls, ID, and Deloris (Gary) Holmstead, of Littleton, CO; her sons: Shirrel Lee (Lorraine) Crook, of Maricopa, AZ, Gerold Allen (Janet) Crook, of Blackfoot, ID, Willard Duane (Bonnie) Crook, and Terry Von (Luana) Crook, both of Las Vegas, NV; 27 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Shirrel; four grandsons: David Allen, Douglas Ray, Aaron Joseph and Cory; one great-granddaughter, Kaylie; two brothers: Darrell and Clinton Olaveson; two sisters: Alyce Polson and Ila Crow.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 29, 2016, at the Sandcreek LDS 1st Ward, 885 South Boulevard, with Bishop Brian McBride officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6-8 p.m., Sunday, February 28, 2016, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., Idaho Falls, and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.coltrinmortuary.com.
