Edna Wride Johnson, 98, of Idaho Falls, died August 25, 2009, at her home. She had been under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho. She was born May 4, 1911, in Provo, Utah, to Angus and Harriet Ann Clinger Wride. She spent her first years in Provo, moving to Aberdeen, Idaho, in 1917. She graduated from Aberdeen High School in 1931. On July 16, 1932, she married William Q. Johnson in Logan, Utah. He died February 15, 1953. After her marriage, she lived in Aberdeen, moved to Price, Utah, for about two years and then moved back to Aberdeen and Grandview, Idaho. After her husband died, she moved to Idaho Falls in 1979. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She attended the temple three days per week as long as her health permitted until she was 90 years old. She was President of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers in Aberdeen. Edna enjoyed sewing, knitting and crocheting. She also enjoyed working in her yard and flower gardens. She is survived by the following: son, William Dean (Noreen) Johnson of Idaho Fall daughter, Loretta Margaret (John A.) Porter of Kirkland, Washington son, Drew L. (Gloria Jean) Johnson of Idaho Falls sister, Ora Moore of Boise, Idaho 11 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren She is preceded in death by her son, Vaughn Grant Johnson in 1993, her parents and three brothers and four sister. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 1, 2009, at the Idaho Falls LDS 9th Ward, 395 2nd Street, Idaho Falls, with Bishop Larry Haws officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, August 31, 2009, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls, and one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will take place at 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, September 1, 2009, following the services at Aberdeen Cemetery.
