Edward E. Robbins, 96, respected husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and great-great grandfather and LDS church member, peacefully passed away Sunday, May 13, 2018, at his home in Idaho Falls surrounded by his loving family.

Eddie was born April 26, 1922, son of William Fred Robbins and Flora Etta Bowen Robbins of Fairview, VA.  Eddie spent his early years living on a farm in Fairview, Virginia where he learned the value of hard work. He served in the Army in World War II for thirty-six months.  He was on an 835-foot ship called the "Martania", the largest ship in the British Empire.  He was in Rio de Janeiro, Southeast Brazil, Trinidad, Chile, Cape Town, South Africa, Madagascar and Bombay, India, New Delhi, India, Persian Gulf, (the back door of Russia), Kramsha, Iran and Arabia, halfway between Bagdad and Jordan.  When he returned home he attended school through The Idaho State Apprenticeship Program in carpentry.  He was a builder/contractor and owned Robbins Hardwood Floors.  He put the original gym floor in the Idaho Falls High School.  He put floors in schools and homes in Idaho, Utah, Montana and Wyoming.  He retired from the hardwood floor business and worked for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints as a Building Engineer.

He married his eternal sweetheart, Ruby Faulkner Robbins in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Their 67 years of marriage were an example of selfless devotion to all around them.  They were blessed to be able to raise 18 children: 9 boys and 9 girls.   They have 51 Grandchildren, 79 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.  They made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho where they resided for 66 years.

Eddie was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served as Secretary of the Elders Quorum, High Priest, Home teacher, Sunday School teacher and Temple worker.  He enjoyed building for himself and his children, reading and traveling.  Eddie's valiant testimony of the savior, Jesus Christ, was his constant compass in his daily decisions, choices and positive attitude. His influence and example impacted many people whom he sincerely served and loved.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Ruby LaVonia; his children: Vivian Miller, Idaho Falls, ID; Lynn Robbins, Seattle, WA; Sandra (Gailen) Gifford,Ammon, ID;  Melody Wolf, Ammon, ID; Thomas (Sandra) Robbins, Park City, Ut; Rosetta (Dale) Fairbanks, Taylorville, UT; Anna Marie (Dan) Buno, Seattle, WA; Blane (Suzanne) Robbins, Blackfoot, ID; Flora Robbins, Idaho Falls, ID; Everette (Karen) Robbins, So Australia, Australia; Marty (Tammi) Robbins, Price, UT; Nancy Tucker, Ammon, ID; Jesse (LaNay) Robbins, Idaho Falls, ID; Ruby (Lance) Mecham, Firth, ID; 51 grandchildren, 79 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; William Fred and Flora E. Robbins, brothers; Garly Robbins, Jerry Dee (JD) Robbins, Wilson (Doc) Robbins, and sisters; Mary Neeley, Nancy Berry, Mollie Ball, Mae Tomlinson, Vivian Hughes; and children; Eddie Jaye Robbins, Daniel Robbins, Julie Robbins Mason and Nathan Robbins; son-in-law, Reynold Kay Miller; two granddaughters, one great-granddaughter and one great-grandson.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Idaho Falls LDS Central Stake Center, 2025 Jennie Lee Drive, with Bishop Randy Petersen, 11 ^th Ward, officiating. Visitations will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, May 18, 2018, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls, and from 9- 9:45 a.m., Saturday at the church.  Burial will be in the Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.  Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.coltrinmortuary.com.
