Obituary

Edwin Lee Reeves, 83, of Idaho Falls, died Sunday, May 7th, 2006, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. He had been under the care of Aspen Home Health.

He was born August 9, 1922, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Edwin Rush Reeves and Erma Venice Snedaker Reeves. He grew up and attended schools in Salt Lake. In 1940, he graduated from West High School in Salt Lake. He trained in Texas and Kansas to be a Remote Control Turret mechanic and later trained in Oklahoma City to be an Electronic Technician with the Federal Aviation Agency. He served as a Sargent in the Army Air Corp during World War II.

On May 10, 1942, he married Florence H. Wade in Salt Lake City. He worked in Salt Lake City for Eitel McCullougk. He moved to Elko, Nevada, to work for the F.A.A. (Federal Aviation Agency) and later transferred to Idaho Falls. He retired after working 31 years with the F.A.A.

He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, later known as St. Lukes. He served on the Vestry and sang in the church choir.

He was Commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars' Sugarhouse Post in Salt Lake City.

He belonged to the Stamp Club; he enjoyed stamp collecting and photography. He was a faithful husband who lived just short of three days of celebrating 64 years of marriage.

He is survived by the following: wife, Florence "Peg" W. Reeves of Idaho Falls daughter, Margaret Ann (Don) Broening of Palmyra, Nebraska son, Roger Lloyd (Francis) Reeves of Chicago, Illinois 3 grandchildren 3 great-grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Edwin Lee Reeves Jr.; and two sisters, Helen Murray and Mary Nelson. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. May 11, 2006, at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 270 N. Placer Ave. with Father Bruce Henne officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Luke's Episcopal Church or to the Bonneville County Humane Society.
