Edwin Douglas Tibke, 73, of Idaho Falls, peacefully passed away on Monday, February 11, 2019, in his home and surrounded by family, with excellent assistance from OneSource Home Health and Hospice. In accordance with his wishes, cremation will be conducted by Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls. Services and interment will take place this spring at Fairview Cemetery, Columbia Falls, MT.

Born March 23, 1945, in Kalispell, MT, Ed was variously a resident of Montana, Idaho, and Utah. Ed spent most of his life in the logging industry and was regarded by friends and family as one of the hardest working men they have ever known. He possessed an encyclopedic knowledge of the logging industry and equipment used therein, and an uncanny ability to diagnose and solve mechanical problems.

Ed is survived by his beloved nephews, Ron Tibke and Don Tibke of Helena, MT, his son, Reno Tibke of Tokyo, Japan, sister-in-law, Evelyn Smith of Helena, MT, and a large extended family. He was preceded in death by his domestic partner, Beverly Kletting.
