Eleanor May Wiemer, 89, of Idaho Falls, passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2024.
Eleanor was born on October 1, 1934, to John Pearis Raymond and Doris Ann Young Raymond in Rigby, Idaho. She grew up in Rigby and Idaho Falls. She graduated from Bonneville High School in 1952. She continued her education at Eastern Idaho Technical College in Bookkeeping.
On February 15, 1952, Eleanor married Richard C. Wiemer. After almost 62 years together Richard passed away on January 7, 2014.
She worked in retail for Kress' and Bon Marche and was a bookkeeper for Wiemer Heating. She also volunteered at her children's school. She was a teacher's Aid for District 93 and a Sunday School Secretary.
She was a member of the Hope Lutheran Church. She participated in the women's bowling league. She enjoyed spending time at her cabin in Palisades, camping, fishing, hunting, rodeos and posse, sewing, crocheting, and spending time with her family. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family.
Eleanor is survived by her daughters: Bonnie Hancock of Rigby, Idaho, Ann (Larry) Schurtz of Pahrump, Nevada, Kay Wiemer of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Lilly KayAnn Reed of Idaho Falls, Idaho; her son, John (Heather) Wiemer of Freeland, Michigan; and her daughter-in-law, Carol Wiemer of Idaho Falls, Idaho; 13 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 23 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 3 brothers, 1 sister, her son Richard "Butch" Wiemer, her daughter Cheryl Mae Wiemer, her sons-in-law Troy Reed and Bernie Hancock, 3 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 17, 2024, at Hope Lutheran Church, 2071 12th Street, Idaho Falls. A visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m., Friday, February 16, 2024, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls, and 9:30-10:00 a.m., prior to the service at the church.
