Elena Wakely Bloxham Barnes, 96, of Idaho Falls, passed away Friday, March 22, 2013, at the Gables Assisted Living in Ammon. She was born April 10, 1916, in Downey, Idaho, to Erastus Bloxham and Sarah Mae Wakely Bloxham. She grew up in the Marsh Valley area. On June 15, 1934, she married Edmund Frank Barnes in the Logan Utah LDS Temple. He passed away April 24, 1990. During World War II, she drove a milk truck for Cream Top Dairy. She worked at Fuller Paint and Karl T. Homer Interiors as a secretary for many years. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many callings and loved each one. She served a mission in England and 2 missions in Salt Lake City. Elena enjoyed China painting, cooking, baking, making dipped chocolates, doing ceramics, hunting, fishing, knitting, crocheting and canning. She loved spending time at the cabin in Island Park. Elena was loved by everyone that had the privilege of meeting her. She loved her husband, her family and the gospel of Jesus Christ. She is survived by the following: Sons: Douglas K. (Ginny) Barnes of Ammon, and Bruce Edmund (Lillian) Barnes of Idaho Falls; Daughter, Donna Mae (Clyde) Thompson of Idaho Falls; 9 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her 14 siblings. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 28, 2013, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., Idaho Falls, Idaho.
