Obituary

Elma Iris Caughie Colby, 78, of Idaho Falls, died August 31, 2008, at her daughter's home in Idaho Falls. She was under the care of Aspen Home Health & Hospice.

She was born October 17, 1929, in Idaho Falls to Harrison Caughie and Rachel Ivy Nelson Caughie. She was raised and attended school in Idaho Falls. She attended Riverside High School.

On April 23, 1945, she married Aldon D. Colby in Idaho Falls.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She loved to sew, cook, collect butterflies, go camping and fishing, be around a house full of people and especially spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Elma will be greatly missed by all; we know she is in a better place and we will miss her dearly.

She is survived by the following:

daughters: Shirley (Gale) Harkness and Rachel (Danny) Carlson both of Idaho Falls;

sons: Harrison (Judy) Colby, Richard Glenn Colby both of Idaho Falls, and Charles Marvin Colby of Portland, Oregon; 50 grandchildren and 53 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her brothers: Floyd Caughie, Pete Caughie, Dick Caughie, and Adelbert Caughie; and sisters: Emma Idella Hurt, Delores Skyes, and Violet Williams, and Irene Caughie.

Funeral Services will be held at 2p.m. Saturday, September 6, 2008 at the Lincoln 5th Ward Chapel, 3102 Pinnacle Idaho Falls with Bishop Tim Belnap officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Friday, September 5, 2008 at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St. Idaho Falls and one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will be held at the Rose Hill Cemetery.
